Whitman County is located on the south eastern corner of Washington. The county seat is Colfax and the largest city is Pullman. The population at the 2010 census was 44,776. The county was named after Marcus Whiteman a Presbyterian missionary who was killed in 1847 by members of the Cayuse tribe.

County Jail Information
Visitation is a privilege. The jail staff reserves the right to refuse anyone a chance to visit an inmate. Visitation is every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. 4:00 pm is the latest anyone can check in for visiting.
If you have anything you want to give to an inmate, you must have it checked and only a specific number of items can be dropped off at the jail. You must provide a picture ID to visit. You are subject to search and visiting is on a first-come first-served basis. Visits are conducted via a phone through a glass partition.
