Lewis County Sheriff Information

Lewis County is in the south central of Washington. At the 2010 census, the population was 75,455. The county seat is Chehalis and the largest city is Centralia. The county was created in 1845 and was named in honor of Meriwether Lewis. One of the world’s tallest Douglas fir trees was in the town of Mineral, Washington at a height of 390 feet.

The Sheriff’s Office patrols an area of 2,436 square miles of which 33 square miles is water. The Office protects approximately 76,000 residents. The office employs about 30 uniformed personnel. Specialty areas include boating enforcement SWAT and community impact team.

County Jail Information

Web based video visitation is conducted everyday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. The last visitation begins at 9:40 pm. Visitors must register online prior to video visitation and a $0.25 per minute charge for all visits must be paid with a credit or debit card. Inmates are allowed 15 minutes a week.

Inmates can purchase up to $100 of commissary each week. To send in money you need to mail in a money order, use cash or credit card at the cashier in either lobby, pay online at

or by calling 1-866-394-0490.

Mail can b sent to an inmate via the US Postal Service. Use the address listed and make sure your return address and the inmate’s name is on the mail.
