Franklin County is located in the eastern portion of Washington State. The population was 78,163 as of the 2010 census and the largest city is Pasco. Pasco is also the county seat. The county was formed on November 1883 and named for Benjamin Franklin. The county has a total area of 1,265 square miles and 23 square miles is water.

Franklin County Records/Court Clerk

The Franklin County Clerk is an elected office with specific duties assigned by court rules. The clerk is responsible for processing and managing all Superior Court records, financial transaction including Juvenile Court and Civil Court matters. The support staff manages 7 superior court judges and 3 court commissioners.

County Jail Information

The Corrections Division contains a commander, 1 captain, 4 sergeants, 5 corporals, 45 corrections officers, 4 records clerks, and 2 cooks. The current jail opened in 1986 and has a capacity 102 beds. A new jail addition opened in 2014 and added 208 beds. The Corrections department has a total capacity of 334. The daily average of inmates is usually 200.

Visitation hours are Saturdays and Sundays. Inmates with last names beginning with A-K have visitation hours on Saturday 8:00 am  11:30 am. And 1:00 pm – 3:45 pm. Those with last names beginning with L-Z have visitation hours on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

Inmates can receive mail at the prison address. Money order can be mailed and placed on inmate accounts. Cash or money orders can be put in an envelope and dropped in the drop box located in the outside lobby just outside the visitation area.
